Bill Brown

Bill graduated from Glasgow University in 1983 with a Bachelor in Accountancy. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, having qualified in 1986 with KPMG, where he began his career in 1983. He worked in general practice and later in the Corporate Finance department, specialising in advising small companies on raising capital. 

In 1988 Bill moved to Invesco where he worked in the Venture Capital department. As an investment manager, he was responsible for making venture capital investments involving the use of loan note and preferred capital instruments and the ongoing monitoring of these investments. Bill joined F&C Asset Management plc ("F&C") in 1993 as part of the Private Equity business within Freinds Ivory and Sime plc. He launched the seminal AiM Trust in 1996 and 3PC Investment Trust PLC in 2001, both of which were merged in 2003 to form Active Capital Trust plc, of which he continued as the manager. He was Head of the pan-European small cap team prior to leaving F&C to form Bluehone Investors LLP in 2005. Bill is a former chair of the AiM Advisory Group of the London Stock Exchange and is chairman of Aortech PLC.

Robert Mitchell

Robert graduated from Buckingham University in 1987 with a BSc (Hons) Economics. In 1995 he obtained an MBA from Exeter University. 

After a seven year grounding in smaller public company analysis and investment at Framlington Investment Management Robert joined F&C (formerly ISIS Asset Management plc) in 1995 to help launch the AiM Trust and then assist in its management. He was then responsible for launching and managing The AiM VCT plc and AiM VCT2 plc as well as managing The Discovery Trust plc. In 2005 Robert left F&C to form Bluehone Investors LLP. Robert is Chairman of CYBA PLC, Chairman of Ezilla Inc. Director of Bioenergy Group Limited and non-executive director of Intosol PLC. Robert was previously a non-executive director of  Water Intelligence PLC.
